The Titusville Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a local man on Labor Day.
At approximately 11:30 PM on Monday September 3rd 2018, officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries involving two vehicles at the intersection of South Street (S.R. 405) and Cheney Highway (S.R. 50).
The preliminary investigation revealed that Arthur Claude Davis II, 57, of Titusville, was driving a 2002 Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on Cheney Highway. Davis ran the red light at the intersection and struck a 2009 Kia Forte traveling northbound on South Street driven by Alexis Chloe Roberge, 22, and passenger, Jeremy Scott Smith, 27, both of Titusville.
Smith was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased. Roberge was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Davis was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion by traffic crash investigators.
