An immediate response by police to a report of an in-progress theft yesterday lead to the arrest of a local man, who now faces additional charges in connection to a vehicle burglary last week.
The preliminary investigation revealed that on Thursday February 7th 2019, at approximately 3:45 PM, witnesses observed the suspect taking a generator from a residence on Ojibway Avenue. The suspect was quickly located by police in a nearby shopping plaza, positively identified and placed under arrest.
The generator was returned to the owner.
Detectives conducted an investigative interview, reviewed additional evidence and subsequently determined that the suspect was responsible for the at least one vehicle burglary that occurred on February 1st 2019 at approximately 3:30 AM on Waterside Circle.
Caleb Benjamin Maseman, 29, of Titusville, was arrested and charged with four felonies; Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Vehicle Burglary with Theft and 2 counts of Grand Theft.
Maseman is being held at the Brevard County Jail with a $24,000 bond.
